TVCatchup.com have recently launched an optimised version of their streams specifically  for the iPad, providing access to many of the most popular Free View stations.

In addition it’s worth mentioning that TVcatchup.com have added additional streams to their main Desktop browser service, offering different quality of video so you can choose the most appropriate one for your bandwidth.

It works really well if you just want to listen to your favourite songs or discover new music, however, where for me Itunes is a better solution is you can save your music, copy to your Ipod and you own it.

Spotify is a nice product and you can’t go wrong with free music.

Project Kangaroo was originally developed by BBC Worldwide, Channel 4 and ITV plc,but was blocked before release by the Competition Commission in 2009. The technology was later bought by Arqiva for about 8 million pounds.

SeeSaw is aiming to have around 3,500 hours of TV content available, including a mix of free advertising-supported content and paid-for programming.

The video quality is great and the programs look fantastic on the great widescreen monitor of the F8, you can either stream the video or if your Broadband connection isn’t up to it you can download the programs to your hard disk for 30 days.

A fantastic service by the BBC and it really works well on the Panasonic CF-F8.

The service is still in Beta but looks to work ok.

There is something for everyone there, from serious documentaries to sublime comedy and everything in between.

There are times when it would be useful to be able to download Youtube videos to your computer, for presentations for example, and there is a great application called Free YouTube download and here’s how to install and run it.

1) Download the application by clicking here, and then run the application when it has finished downloading, this will install the application onto your computer.

2) Run the application to display this screen.

3)In your Internet browser display the YouTube video that you want to download, highlight the full address (Starts with Http://…) in the address bar and copy the location. You can copy address by pressing control and C at the same time after highlighting the address.

4) In the YouTube download application click on the Paste button.

5) In the Output folder box select where you want to save the video.

6) If you want to alter the format do so, if you aren’t sure it it as the default.

7) Click on Download.

The YouTube video will now download.

When running the application it may prompt you to update the application, do so when prompted, this is because every now and again YouTube alter the way that videos are stored.
