Eye of Judgment to be released on the PSP

The-Eye-of-Judgment-1440When Eye of Judgment was first released on the PS3 it was a ground breaking game. The game came with a number of collectible cards that were used to play the game on a virtual board as they were read by the PlayStation Eye and turned into on screen characters. It was a good example of Augmented Reality.

Now the game is being ported to the PSP with a number of key differences, firstly the PSP camera isn’t supported and the game won’t support the collectible cards of the original. The game is just a port of the original game rules and mechanics. Whether or not the game loses all of it’s charm only time will tell but for a quick card game on the go it should provide some fun.

eyepetAs technology in the home improves we are starting to see more and more examples of Augmented Reality in our lives.

Augmented Reality is where computer generated visuals are merged on top of real world images, and a perfect example of this is the new Playstation 3 game EyePet.

EyePet uses the PS3 EyeToy to grab a video stream of your living room and adds a virtual pet into the environment, who will integrate with you in a number of cute and amusing ways, for an example of this see the video below.

Whilst the game it’s self may be nothing more then a gimmick, it certainly shows how Augmented Reality is no longer exclusively available to the military and is now becoming part of all out lives.
