The Augmented Reality game EyePet has now been available for the PS3 in the UK for a couple of weeks and a number of EyePet home videos have appeared on YouTube.
Many People have been wondering if the game works as well in real life as the offical game trailers would suggest. This video should put any doubts to rest as the game appears to work brilliantly.
As technology in the home improves we are starting to see more and more examples of Augmented Reality in our lives.
Augmented Reality is where computer generated visuals are merged on top of real world images, and a perfect example of this is the new Playstation 3 game EyePet.
EyePet uses the PS3 EyeToy to grab a video stream of your living room and adds a virtual pet into the environment, who will integrate with you in a number of cute and amusing ways, for an example of this see the video below.
Whilst the game it’s self may be nothing more then a gimmick, it certainly shows how Augmented Reality is no longer exclusively available to the military and is now becoming part of all out lives.
