Microsoft remove Sky Player from Xbox Live

xbox-liveToday (27/10/09) was supposed to signal the launch of Sky Player on Xbox Live in the UK, and this was the case was a couple of hours, and then unfortunately Microsoft has to pull the service.

The service which will offer Live and On demand channels to Sky subscribers has created great deal of excitement amongst the Xbox community with the promise of technical enhancements (Such as Virtual Football Parties) over and above the traditional sky service. The service also offered an alternative way for customers to receive Sky Channels no longer is it necessary to have a Sky Dish Installed.

The service was withdrawn after many users complained of technical difficulties and Microsoft have now rescheduled the launch for tomorrows (28/10/09).

Netflix launching soon on PS3 in America

NetflixLogoThe American PlayStation Blog is reporting that the Netflix Movie Rental Service will soon be arriving on the PS3.

Although a Netflix membership will cost you $8.99 a month after you have a membership not only will you be able to get DVD’s delivered to your door but the service will allow American PS3 owning Netflix Members to stream movies and TV shows directly to their PS3 at no extra cost.

Initially to stream films, Netflix members will be given a free Disc which will need to be inserted into the PS3 before the films will play.ps3 netflix

Netflix members and PS3 system owners can now reserve a free instant streaming disc for PS3 systems by going to www.netflix.com/ps3. Upon availability, the instant streaming disc will be delivered for free by first-class mail, generally one business day after members request it.
